The world of boxing is a crazy world. It’s no ordinary sport. It’s an abnormal world where getting hit as hard as she can possibly get you in the face is the norm, day after day. Not a wise career choice, by any means, especially not for the males, now that our Girl Power rules I to XXXII have been actioned. On top of that, it’s a corrupt and bureaucratic managerial scene too, where the governing bodies are far more interested in their takings than in their duties. It’s not a well-run sport either really, though it does rake it in big time. And the lies keep piling in, resulting in most matches consisting of little more than the systematic destruction of a mismatches lamp to the slaughter. One way of another, in this game, it will mess you up! To say there’s a huge mess of randomly piled up rankings and title belts would be a great understatement. Not only are there tons and tons of randomly opposing but strangely similar sanctioning bodies, none of which ever agree on anything to do with the ranking lists of top challengers. Just take a look at their world rankings right now, look up the WBA IBF WBC and other main world rankings now or in any other year – see? So totally different!! None of them have the same people in their top five. Crazy! There are also way more weight classes in mainstream use right now than most people realise: No less than 17 of them, ranging from 105 lbs strawweight and the 108 lbs junior flyweight (pretty much the same thing? Yeah, exactly!) to cruiserweight and heavyweight, either side of 200 lbs. In addition, there are also a large number different boxing events, all of which are by invitation and negotiation only, at which an aspiring boxer may currently try to fight his way up the rankings, but only if his agent got him through the unpassable barriers. In addition to all that, there are also millions of weird and baffling mixtures of how high up the rungs of the rankings ladder the two fighters are. It sometimes seems like the matchmaker’s job is to ensure that none of the fights are ever well-matched, evenly matched or sensibly paired up, as the undefeated fighters on a hot streak never go up against each other until it is title match time, and the champions often find ways of avoiding having to fight the true number one contender.
