When they were 8-years-old Kye, Jye, John James, Gabriel, and Ty go to live at Michael's house. Kye and Ty were taken from abusive homes. Jye's mother died. He never knew his father. John James and Gabriel were orphans. Michael adopted John James, Gabriel, and Ty. They learned Kye is Michael's brother Nate's son. They learned Jye is Michael's brother Chris' son. When Kye, Jye, John James, Gabriel, and Ty are 18 they still live at Michael's house with Michael. Nate and Chris live there too. Kye still struggles with being angry.
