A Clash of Worlds

Captain Sheila O'Connor walked the nearly empty corridors of her once proud starship for the last time. The ship was still in good condition. However, after a century of service and multiple refits, the U.S.S. Lexington was scheduled to become a museum. Even with all the upgrades, there were some things that the Lady Lex just could not do compared to more modern ships. O'Connor was her last active duty commander and was more than a little sentimental about that fact. "Bridge to Captain," the comm system chirped. She tapped the badge on her uniform. "O'Connor here." "Captain, Admiral M'gawa is hailing you," Lieutenant Massa said. "Priority One. We are also receiving deployment orders from Starfleet Command." O'Connor could hear the smile that was on the communications officer's face. She shared the same smile. "I'll take it down here in Conference Room Three," O'Connor said. "Have Commander Boruma join me."
