Dr. Michael Vincent, veterinarian, born ca 1785 in Columbia County, New York settled in the Abbotts, Town of Ischua, Cattaraugus County, New York. He died in 1875 in Ischua. His children married the children of other early settlers. This compendium of family history documents the Vincent and allied families, generally from Ischua and Lyndon in Cattaraugus County and Cuba in Allegany County. The allied families include Budd, Wood, Roat, Lockwood, Luther, Caswell, Sherlock, and other families. The fully indexed book, with footnoted references, document the families and includes the family histories for those that continued to migrate westward in the mid-1850’s. Michael Vincent and his wife, Nancy Ray, had seven children: James Brebner Vincent, Margaret M. (Vincent) Bristol, William Vincent, Robert Luther Vincent, Jacentha S. (Vincent) Thompson, Elijah Orton Vincent and Gilbert Monroe Vincent.
Volume I of this history includes a compendium of family history of additional families including Vincent, Cady, Bristol, Heath, Williams, Abbott, Hackett, Hoag, Loveridge, Mabey, Thompson, Ray, Lown, Nottingham, Holliday, and other families, all of the same neighborhood in Ischua, Lyndon, and Cuba, New York.
