This seminal work represents a culmination of rigorous field research and the meticulous analysis of approximately 5,000 natural utterances. Structured across 13 meticulously crafted chapters, this volume delves deep into the intricate tapestry of Iranian cultural traits, colloquially referred to as "cultuling," aiming to discern between manifestations of societal health and dysfunction. Within these pages, we meticulously scrutinize nine distinct cultulings, encompassing themes such as avoiding being judged, jealousy, avoiding being direct, invasion of privacy, futures thinking, trust, identity, exaggeration, and religiosity. Employing the established SPEAKING model developed by Hymes as our analytical framework, each cultuling is dissected with precision, allowing us to discern its contextual nuances, the actors involved, the underlying motivations, and the subtle interplay of linguistic and cultural norms. In essence, this work represents a seminal contribution to the field of cultural studies, offering a nuanced exploration of the multifaceted dimensions of Iranian cultural identity and societal dynamics.
