At its most simple level the Song of Solomon (or, Song of Songs) is a wonderful love story, depicting the deep and allegorical relationship between a Bride and her Bridegroom (alongside other supporting roles). However, this book is also a much misunderstood one - with many commentators stumbling over the intricate and yet powerful symbology. These collated notes are not provided to be exhaustive, but rather to help the reader to identify the book's key themes, provide a framework for study and introduce some of the expositional detail (particularly in relation to the two central characters).
