About Christle Rawlins

Christle Rawlins-Jackson is a visual artist and communications expert who uses various mediums to convey her ideas. A native of Boston, MA, she is inspired by her relationships with people, and nature. She is a founding member of SISJBTC as well as the documenter of guild events from 1997 to 2010. The interaction with fellow members and their quilts has served as a catalyst for the inception of "Well Seasoned Sisters Cookbook". Rawlins-Jackson’s focal point has been on preserving the history of the guild while celebrating the diversity of its members by picturing their quilts and including recipes of their favorite recipes. Her quilts and photography have been exhibited throughout the U.S. Her Ancestral Quilt, featured in the cookbook was included in Roland Freeman’s exhibition that was representative of his landmark book, "A Communion of The Spirit." The cookbook is an extension of her quest to give voice to women through her performance poetry entitled "The Spirit of Women".
