‘Whimsical Magazine, Tales Of Portraits... Whimsical Magazine is a new independent quarterly publication aiming to highlight and sublimize portrait photography in all its forms, envisioned as a work of art. Additionally to awesome and unique editorial or commercial portraits, every issue will consist of interviews and articles spotlighting talents, from every part of the world, who will inspire every photography and image enthusiast and stimulate you to excel in your art, in order to make you live your passion more completely. Passion, creativity and emotion are our 3 watchwords. When, in 2017, the Swedish portrait photographer Michaela Davholt, decided to photograph newborns and babies in the studio instead of at home with families, she started in her huge living room with floor-to-ceiling windows. Needless to say, she learned a lot about how designing the studio is hugely important to your experience and your new family member’s first photoshoot. She went from shooting natural light to her beloved flashes which, according to her own experience, are the most important part in being able to deliver beautiful images with depth and wonderful colors. And instead of having a grand, open studio, she has learned that babies and kids thrive in a small smaller area, with mom & dad just a breath away with everything we need close at hand to create magical images and a cozy experience. The studio also provides perfect warmth during your photoshoot for your baby to enjoy : ‘The studio is a converted garage with adaptation for mainly newborn and baby photography.
