Whimsical Magazine is a new independent fortnightly publication aiming to highlight and sublimize portrait photography in all its forms, envisioned as a work of art. Additionally to awesome and unique editorial or commercial portraits, every issue will consist of interviews and articles spotlighting talents, from every part of the world, who will inspire every photography and image enthusiast and stimulate you to excel in your art,in order to make you live your passion more completely. Passion, creativity, emotion and audacity are our 4 watchwords. Introducing Jerome Bally.. Jerome Bally is the photographer behind the lens.Working full time as a product manager in a multinational company, he keeps practicing photography as a real passion. Indeed, 5 years ago, as he took the decision to follow another cursus in order to reorient himself professionally, Jerome chose to follow a one year weekend education in photography and really enjoyed it! A vocation was born : ‘At the beginning I did not want to try portrait photography but once I tried I was addicted to it.’ In his way of considering and living photography, Jerome often try to combine nature and architecture, in the aim to associate these aspects with the subjects of his portraits. ‘Especially in my photos with a strong bounding to nature, I try to combine a beautiful model, a stunning or interesting dress and the beauty of the location.’ Always in search of new ideas and concepts to experiment in his photographs, his main aspiration is to unveil the singularity of every model : ‘I like to try something new, something I never did before or to spend time with a person that I never met before and get to know that person better. (...) I also search contrasts and combining things that usually do not belong together. But the center of my portraits is always the person in itself, the feelings and the inner beauty of that person.’ These singular and striking concepts, Jerome imagines them by drawing his ideas from very diverse sources of inspiration on a daily basis, resulting in a rich, eclectic and dynamic style of photography. ‘When it comes to ideas, I either saw this by scrolling on social media or while being in nature, I see a spot and then imagine a person in that spot. Especially in my photos with a strong bounding to nature, I try to combine a beautiful model, a stunning or interesting dress and the beauty of the location.’
