‘Whimsical Magazine, Tales Of Portraits... Whimsical Magazine is a new independent fortnightly publication aiming to highlight and sublimize portrait photography in all its forms, envisioned as a work of art. Additionally to awesome and unique editorial or commercial portraits, every issue will consist of interviews and articles spotlighting talents, from every part of the world, who will inspire every photography and image enthusiast and stimulate you to excel in your art, in order to make you live your passion more completely. Passion, creativity, emotion and audacity are our 4 watchwords. Stephanie Jackson is the photographer behind the lens. She has always had a camera in hand and remembers her mom gifting her first camera when she was about 3 years old : ‘It was a Periwinkle 35mm that I took everywhere with me even if it didn’t have film. I have ALWAYS wanted to be a photographer for National Geographic. The thought of traveling and taking pictures of animals was a childhood dream.’ As she got older Stephanie loved the work Anne Geddes produced and wished she could photograph babies like that. But it wasn’t until her oldest son was born and left this earth in the same day that she realized exactly how important photography was for her. ‘I have one picture of him. Just ONE and I will, forever, cherish that picture. Pictures of our loved ones are a way preserve those special moments ; a way to remember the laughs, the tears. They are our way of stepping back in time and reliving those moments we want to forever remember.
