Whimsical Magazine is a new independent fortnightly publication aiming to highlight and sublimize portrait photography in all its forms, envisioned as a work of art. Passion, creativity, emotion and audacity are our 4 watchwords. ‘I can’t recall exactly when I picked up my first camera, it seems it’s always been an extension of me.’ As a child, the Nebraska based social photographer Rachelle Lee fond memories of the excitement and anticipation of taking in her rolls of film to be developed. ‘It was like Christmas morning, eager to see what was captured.’ This passion for photography has stayed with her throughout her life and she still feels that same eager anticipation, to see what was captured, after every session. And when Rachelle doesn’t have a camera in hand, you’ll find her chasing around her 5 energetic and fun-loving kiddos, drinking a good cup of coffee, reading a historical fiction novel, striving to purge her house and become a minimalist, or traveling the country seeking new adventures.
