Bound for Gardiner’s Island is based on a true adventure of children growing up on Long Island. The children venture forth on a small boat to find Captain Kidd’s treasure, buried on Gardiner’s Island in 1699. Written as a play with music, students portray in words and music the dramatic experience of self-discovery. Meet Hunter, a ten-year-old boy, who comes from a long line of fishermen. Every day is a “fine day for fishin’” for him and his trusty dog Coastal, a yellow lab. Nell just wants to leave Springs and get rich.
