St. Augustine on St. John the Evangelist

This is book one in a series of Scripture commentaries, sermons and homilies by great writers and thinkers from the early ages of the Church. In this book we offer 124 tractates and some select sermons on the Gospel according to St. John the Evangelist and 10 homilies on St. John's First Catholic Epistle (1st John). St. Augustine is one of the most loved (and hated) of all classical Christian theologians, but no matter how one views him, it is hard to deny that he has shaped more than 1,500 years of Christian thinking and belief. He is also, perhaps more than any one other person, responsible for our cultural beliefs practises in the West.
