When God considered creating the heaven and the earth, His first thought was YOU. The light, the water, the firmament, the plants and trees, and the living creatures were all made for YOU. Then God created YOU in His image and gave YOU dominion over His creation. Despite the first Adam’s fall, God never lost sight of or concern for YOU. When God drove Adam from the garden, he thought of YOU; not wanting YOU to live forever in a fallen world. When God saved Noah and his family, He thought of YOU. When God made a covenant with Abraham, He thought of YOU. When God gave the law to Moses, He thought of YOU. When God made David the king of Israel, He thought of YOU. When God gave Solomon wisdom, He thought of YOU. And when God sent Jesus to sacrifice His life to pay for our sins and restore humanity back to right relationship with Him, He thought of YOU.
This commentary on the first three chapters of Ephesians explores the myriad blessings we already have as believers by that sacrifice, opening the door to understanding Romans 8:32, which says, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” Let your heart be encouraged as you discover God’s love, power, and provision for YOU.
