Included in the collection are twelve women writers who have contributed greatly to American literature. We can learn a lot from them. The writers found within the book are: Jane Austen, Emily Bronte, Charlotte Bronte, Louisa May Alcott, Lucy Maud Montgomery, Willa Cather, Mary Shelley, Virginia Woolf, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Harriet Martineau, Harriet Beecher Stowe, and Mary Roberts Rinehart.
