Old Norse Folklore

Old Norse Folklore is a collection of essays by Stephen Mitchell, professor of Folklore and Mythology at Harvard. The essays are divided into three sections encompassing the performances, myths, and traditions related to Norse folklore, with a focus on their relationship to cultural memory. An immensely readable selection of material, the wide variety of subjects are presented in an approachable manner that nevertheless maintains academic rigor.
