He is a columnist for MercedCountyEvents.com writing Our Community Story twice monthly.
He's been a TV journalist, chamber of commerce executive, adjunct college instructor, and public utility government program manager. He retired in 2020 and now devotes more time to his books and column.
"I have met some fascinating people and traveled to many places in California," Steve says. "Telling their stories connects me with my journalism roots. I enjoy the idea of finding something new."
Steve wrote California Back Roads, Can-Do Californians, and Beaten Paths & Back Roads as part of a series of books known as the California Series. His California books are distinctive in that the words palm and pine are in the subtitle. The palm and the pine are features on California Highway 99 that displays a palm tree (representing southern California) and a pine (representing the north).
