Restless Feet: Simon and Hester (Vanderlyn) Sinsabaugh and Their Descendants

This book is the genealogy and biography of Simon and Hester (Vanderlyn) Sinsabaugh and their descendants. Simon was born in 1778 in Ulster County, New York, in the midst of revolution. He was the grandson and great-grandson of Sensebach immigrants who had arrived in Colonial New York from the County of Wied on the Rhine River a half century earlier. Like his forebearers, Simon was a traveler. He married Hester Vanderlyn in Shawangunk, New York, then later moved to Greene County, Pennsylvania, and finally to Licking County, Ohio. Their children also had restless feet, traveling across the growing United States, crossing a continent and even oceans. This book traces four generations of Simon and Hester’s descendants.
