Dr. Michael Vallance is a Professor in the Department of Media Architecture at Future University Hakodate (FUN), Japan. He has a Doctorate in Education from Durham University and a Masters Degree in Computer Assisted Learning from Stirling University, UK. He has been involved in educational technology implementation and research for over ten years, working closely with schools, pre-service teachers and computer companies particularly in Singapore, Malaysia and Japan. Michael has written much about the informed use and creative potential for iPods, iPads and the iPod Touch in Higher Education. He is currently researching virtual spaces using OpenSim and LEGO Mindstorms robots. He is an Apple developer in his free time.
