Identity and perspectives are shaped by individual experiences. For the 11th grade students at Claremont International High School, our young lives have been anything but ordinary. Each and every one of us has traveled from a distant land and has somehow found ourselves on the 4th floor of Taft Campus in the Bronx, New York. Join us as we share our stories of fear, triumphs, challenges and relationships. There is no telling where this book might take you—from the beaches of the Dominican Republic, the villages of West Africa or Bangladesh and beyond to the streets of New York City. Our stories are as diverse as our cultural backgrounds. Come on this journey as we share our experiences and begin to define what it means to be us.
