Beyond Evergreen: Writing Our Way into the City
ByStudents of Loyola College in Maryland
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This is an anthology of nineteen essays written by first-year students in Loyola College’s WR100 Effective Writing course during Loyola’s “Year of the City”—the 2006-2007 academic year. The essays were selected by students and faculty in the Department of Writing. The goal of the anthology is to introduce new students—and their parents—to Baltimore and to show readers how Baltimore is an integral part of the Loyola College experience. Essays cover topics—steamed crabs, art, poverty—as well as places—Faidley’s, the Walter’s Art Gallery, the American Visionary Art Museum—frequently associated with Baltimore from the perspective of a first-year college student new to the area.
