The second course examines major political, social, economic, technological, and cultural developments of the 1920s, analyzing the causes of the Great Depression and how the New Deal changed the federal government. Students will analyze the US's participation in World War II and the postwar economic boom and transformation of the US.
They'll end by analyzing major social problems and domestic policy issues in contemporary American society such as US foreign policy since WWII. Interviews of those who witnessed first-hand various historical events will provide more individual perspectives and insights into events being studied.
