Annotated Drawings by Eugene J. Martin: 1977-1978
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This publication includes reproductions of forty-three graphite pencil drawings created by visual artist Eugene James Martin (1938-2005) in 1977 and 1978 in Washington D.C. Martin referred to these drawings as "satirical abstracts". The accompanying quotes by Eugene Martin date from the mid-1970's. The drawings that initially accompanied the present aphorisms were accidentally lost in the early 1980’s in Washington D.C. These drawings and the quotes had been included in a special "chapbook"; however, someone borrowed Eugene Martin's chapbook and misplaced it, never to be seen again. A new choice of drawings provided here substitutes the original imagery. Most of the drawings measure about 8 x 10 inch. Additional drawings and artworks by E.J. Martin can be viewed at http://youtube.com/nemastoma. The site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_J._Martin provides links to other Martin works as well.
