I present here the result of an historical adventure, looking for new sources of teaching materials of Baroque period, but written by women. The present book “Las Damas del Barroco” offers us previously unknown works written by women between 1665 and 1756, particularly creations by Mary Harvey, The Lady Dering (1629-1704), María Aurora, countess von Königsmark (1662-1728), Marietta Priuli (circa 1665), Elisabetta de Gambarini (1730-1765), Mademoiselle Duval de Tillet (circa 1718-1775), Elizabeth Turner (?-1756) and Rosa Giacinta Badalla (circa 1660-1710). Some pieces just needed a light brush-up on the notation to be readable and playable by modern pianists. But there is also a number of works that needed to be restored, harmonized, put together from separate instrumental parts, or reduced from an orchestra score.
