Sometimes we don’t always have the right words, and trying to express emotion feels like a separate language.
There are people among us who walk with a certain grace, an attitude, a depth even. While we look from the outside we admire how high they hold their head, or maybe we pity them for how lonely they seem. Looking at their exterior we could never image that just there, in the unseen realm, there is the weight of the world.
What does that look like? How do you show people how heavy your burdens are? You can’t. They are immeasurable. So you put on a mask, and you walk around sometimes with a certain finesse, and sometime with a little less effort, but every time, the people around you are much more comfortable with the “you” they know.
While that has become the social norm, in this book we reject that effort. In this book we share our demons, we let our shadow side out, and we heal. None of us will ever have the same circumstances, but we share emotions that have proven to be too much for society. Lost Voices is about finding the voices of the silenced, of the depressed, of the anxious. This one is for you.
A book of poems in the form of photos.
