Growing up in Pilot Where Tobacco Was King
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This book was written by Sylvia Bunn Watkins of Franklin County, North Carolina. She was raised on a tobacco farm in the small rural community of Pilot. This book is a tribute to her family, her friends and her community. She describes home life in those years from the Great Depression up to the 1950's. Her memories of those days will spark one in those of you who were raised in that era. She weaves a bit of World History into the stories, to make the incidents described therein, more real. The book was written, specifically for her children and grandchildren, to make them aware of the sacrifices made to insure their safety and prosperity. The language is somewhat depictive of the time and place in which it was spoken. Incidents are written as they were remembered, not necessarily 100% accurate. We trust you will read and reflect on your own early years and, hopefully remember those that helped you along the way.
