If you want to know whether Product A is better than Product B from an environmental perspective, you need to look at a number of factors: greenhouse gases, water, toxics, etc. But how do you compare these issues when they each have different units? Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a method that lets you dig into the details. This knowledge is especially important when you want to make product claims or when you want to design better products.
A number of LCA tools already exist. This directory is intended to help you choose the tool that best meets your needs.
