What gives Government the Right to Force you to pay Tax?
ByTanaquil
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Taxation is commonly accepted as a necessity, a given, or even an unquestionable basis of society and state. Those who favour interventionalist 'big govs' might justify this perceived necessity by pointing out that without taxation, there would be nothing to fund a state at all. On the other hand a 'small gov' would argue that since individuals forcing other individuals to give payment is considered 'extortion', surely governments are not exempt from charges if they truly uphold the rule of law. Hence this book discusses whether the enforcement of taxation - as it is indeed enforced - is a right in political theory, but also whether it might ever be ommittable in actual practice.
