This is a book about the experiences of an armchair birdwatcher who does most of his birdwatching from his balcony. Originally produced as a monthly column, it has been specially compiled into a stand-alone book. The book provides a birds-eye view of the most common birds of the urban area with anecdotes and past experiences of the author which are entertaining as well as informative as they throw light on specific behaviours of the species under discussion. What is most impressive about this book is the obvious control of the language now rarely encountered.
Edited by Humayun Taher, a Chartered Accountant by qualification, an IT professional, an avid birdwatcher and part-time author. His articles and notes have appeared in journal of BNHS (Bombay Natural History Society), PITTA (Publications of Birdwatchers Society of A.P, India) , MAYURA((Publications of Birdwatchers Society of A.P, India) and Hamadryad (Madras Crocodile Bank Trust publication).
