IDUNNA #41 (Autumn 1999) is dedicated to the god Odin—also known as Woden, Wotan, Ódhinn, and by hundreds of other names. Freya Aswynn writes about her experiences with "Odin the Initiator", Swain Wodening writes about "Woden", Stefn Thorsman describes his own "Wodenic Rune Ritual", and Steve Wilson writes about "Basic Blót Construction". Several heathens describe their personal experiences with Odin in "Close Encounters of the Thridhi Kind". There's book and Web reviews, columns, recipes, news, artwork—and as you might expect, plenty of fine poetry.

About The Troth

The Troth is an international organization of people who are working to reclaim and rebuild the pre-Christian religious traditions of the peoples of ancient Germany, Anglo-Saxon England, and Scandinavia, collectively known most commonly as Heathenry. We welcome all who are drawn to the gods, myths, and values of these old ways. We publish a quarterly journal, Idunna, which features both scholarly articles and more personal and intuitive writings, poetry, regular columns, and artwork. We also publish a growing line of books of interest to Heathens, from practical handbooks and guides to translations of ancient texts.
