Sheesh Capeesh

Amongst other things Thomas Schmidt wrote for seminal skateboarding magazine Big Brother which ran from 1992 to 2004. Sheesh Capeesh is a train-of-thought collaged record of Los ANgeles life during the covid-19 pandemic of 2020-21. Wry observational wit, snatches of stolen dialogue, all peppered with poignant often humorous snapshots, Sheesh Capeesh is an experience similar to listening to a faulty short wave radio as it pans randomly (yet significantly) between stations. Comparisons are odious but usually unavoidable, in which case let's liken this book to a hypothetical junction between Burroughs and Warhol with lashings of dadaist humour and mischievous energy. This book is, in our opinion, the authentic document of the period it covers.
