Katie Evans is a young woman in the late 1870s who had moved to Tucson, Arizona to seek a better life. Unfortunately, Katie always seemed to run into bad people who put her in dangerous situations. Katie encounters several life-threatening situations as she tries to escape to freedom. Blue Sky also encounters danger as she tries to take control of the tribe from Red Wolf and get rid of Katie. In Katie and the Gentleman's Gang, two men and their sister invade Tucson to steal a shipment of gold. Katie and her friend, Betsy Good, work at the general store which the Gentleman's Gang robs for supplies. Unfortunately, for Katie and Betsy, the men of the gang were less than gentlemen. That is only the beginning of trouble for the two women and the town. In Kate and the Abductors, Katie is with Sally Robert when the heiress is kidnapped by the Preacher's Gang. The abductors take over an abandoned church in Tucson as their hideout while pretending to be religious leaders. Mrs. Roberts, Sally's mother, thinks Katie is part of the gang and so holds her hostage at her ranch. Poor Betsy confesses to the fake Father that she saw something she shouldn't have seen, putting herself in danger. Meanwhile, Mrs. Roberts plots to get her daughter back. Will anyone survive?
