Tessier Tales weaves together the lives, experiences, and adventures of 14 generations of my extended family from 1575 to 2024. I’ve tried to highlight my family’s identity – our heritage, encompassing the values, tradition and culture which have been passed down by previous generations. Like most family stories, Tessier Tales starts with its roots. But this book isn’t just about the past; it’s about the present and future. This is our family’s legacy, which encompasses the enduring impact and contributions my ancestors left behind for future generations. Our roots run deep! Part One consists of three stories about nine generations of people I did not know. Part Two consists of eight stories about two generations of people I knew and loved. Part Three consists of 16 stories about the people in my generation. We knew each other when we were children. Writing Tessier Tales helped me reconnect with them, and those in the past. About the author – Call me a recreational rather than a professional writer. After retiring from an IT and accounting career, I joined The Villages Memoir Writers Group in 2018. Tessier Tales is one of the results - my first published book. I wrote Tessier Tales in the first person to share my thoughts as each chapter describes the progression of my roots from yesterday to today. It’s a memoir, together with genealogy facts, family folklore, history, travel log, and photo album. My favorite part is “Tracing Your Tree” which instructs the reader how to understand their specific relationship to each person on their family tree. Read more about my family and me in Part Three.
