Welcome to The Hollow Hills. Take a trip through eerie and uncanny landscapes.
No map can guide you.
In the title novelette, an undercover journalist joins an expedition deep into the
woods in northern Spain. He hopes to prove that some bizarre, otherworldly
photographs taken by the expedition’s leader were faked. Instead, he inexplicably
finds himself running for his life to escape those ancient woods.
In the short story ‘SONG OF SOIL’, New York singer Maria Caddas grows tired of
being the support act on a tour of the UK with star-turn Ginny Rivera, and craves a
song of her own to sing. When the tour bus breaks down on a country road, and the
entire entourage is forced to spend the night in a nearby village, Maria is offered an
unusual solution to making her dreams come true.
Meanwhile in 'PHANTOMS', a rock band on the brink of stardom need one final
song to complete their debut album. Serendipitously, singer Danny Hano is taken
home after a gig one evening by a beautiful fan and introduced to a mesmerising
ballad.
When Benjamin's car breaks down on the Yorkshire Moors, in 'THE SECRECY OF
THE HEART';, he's forced to go to an isolated house for help. But he inadvertently
finds himself caught up in an impossible situation. After some rash behaviour results
in him being forced to take part in a hunt out on the pitch-black moor, Benjamin is
made him to confront his own innermost secrets and desires. We return to those
same moors in ‘THE SILENCE OF THE HEART’, where a policeman goes door-to-
door searching for the solution to his own devastating loss.
Creepy, chilling, and witty by turn, the stories in this collection deal in love, isolation,
loneliness, obsession, greed, and revenge.
Come take a hike through the hollow hills. Whatever dwells here will be dying to
meet you …
