The Carver Settlement

It takes young John Carver three years to heal from injuries suffered in the Marine barracks bombing in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1983. He spends the next two decades hopping from one hot spot to the next, setting up high-tech communication and logistics devices in support of important U.S. military operations. In Iraq, in 2004, a tragic misstep strips him of rank and sends him to prison for 11 years. Released in 2016, he hopes to forget the past, and to live out his days in simple surroundings in Mexico. Instead, Carver is lured north by a greedy opportunist bent on killing Carver and taking his place in a scheme worth millions. That scheme attracts an evil born of the Beirut bombing, it awakens a long-dormant force residing in an old barn, and it draws to the scene an intuitive dog named Lucky. Only one will walk away.
