A Hamilton schoolboy has sold a DVD business he developed for $30,000.

Fairfield College seventh former Tomek Pietkiewicz registered his company, NZCHF Ltd, in June 2005 when he was 16. He had to appoint his mother as company director because he was too young.
<br /><br />
He listed the company on Trade Me and sold it within a week.
<br /><br />
With the $12,000 profit he made during the year, his earnings for the year are $42,000: "Pretty good for only a year's work at my age," said Tomek.
<br /><br />
"I believe I've experienced nearly every aspect of business life and this will prepare me for my future in the business world."
<br /><br />
When he sold the company, he had 3300 DVDs listed and was averaging more than 150 sales a week. Tomek said the secret of his success was to "be positive and smile a lot".
