The “People Power” Job Superbook: Book 6. Workplace Issues 1 (Workplace Conduct, Be a Good Worker - Boss, Salary, Employment Law, Privacy, Sick Leave, Family - Work)
This is a book for workers and employers covering many of the logistical, spiritual and legal aspects of work. Accept people on their own terms. The way to deal with people is to be nice, helpful and try to make them feel happy for the moment. They judge you in the first five seconds of contact so at the very least, be neutral and bland. Don't be arrogant and snotty. At the very best, be pleasant but don't offer a phony smile or come on too strong too soon. Just be coolly casual and nice. Give someone a compliment in a casual way like you really mean it and they will like you immediately because people are generally so starved for attention that they will fall for it every time. Tell almost anyone they're interesting, they will think you mean it and keep flapping their gums. By talking to someone casually, you show you like them so they like you back.
