The “People Power” Travel Superbook: Book 10. Caribbean Travel Guide (Covers All the Islands, Lists Tourist Attractions, Hotels, Events, Etc.)
There are thousands of hotels and hundreds of resorts all over the Caribbean. If you're looking for bargains, you will find them because there are so many hotels, not enough customers. There are even campgrounds there if you want to go really cheap. If you're an American or Canadian, you should be able to get in with just a passport without needing a visa. They want to show you a good time so you spend money. Crime is overrated. The government protects its tourism industry cash cow by clamping down on anyone who tries to commit crimes against tourists. The simplest way to go is to buy a one-week airfare-all-inclusive resort ticket that covers everything including food. See the ads in your local newspaper. Beware of local customs. If you rent a car, watch out for that driving on the left side of the road thing. Books about the Caribbean are at #917.20-30 at the library.
