For books about sacred sites in the United States, try #917.3049 or E158 at the library. Some prominent, wondrous sites in my opinion are as follows: Acropolis, Parthenon, ancient Greek ruins, Athens, Greece. Angkor Wat, Cambodia, ancient city. Any observatory where you can view the heavens at night unimpeded both with the naked eye and through a telescope. Assisi, town in Italy, every June, a pilgrimage for St. Francis of Assisi.
