A supernatural transformation story, Midnightmares is about Grace Stevens, a private investigator who is tasked to locate the whereabouts of a runaway teenager. According to her mother, eighteen-year-old Blaire Marie Stiner headed south from North Carolina to Louisiana. Grace starts searching for Blaire in the French Quarter in New Orleans - the district known as Goths' territory. To fit in with the crowd, Grace assumes the new-age vampire lifestyle that many in the French Quarter love. In her search for Blaire, Grace finds herself getting drawn in by the district and the mystery surrounding it. Rapid changes occur in Grace's life, as things she has never imagined happen. She falls in love with another woman, discovers a cult of real vampires, and becomes one of them in an effort to locate Blaire. Despite everything, she has not forgotten the reason why she is in New Orleans. But Blaire can never go back to her family and Grace is forever changed by her experiences in the French Quarter.
