Proceedings of the VII Graduate Student Conference 2010, UCLA Department of Spanish and Portuguese: Transnationality in the Luso-Hispanic World

This volume features selected works from the VII UCLA Spanish and Portuguese Graduate Student Conference, “Transnationality in the Luso-­‐Hispanic World,” held on April 29-30, 2010 at the University of California, Los Angeles. Spanning the disciplines of literature, film and linguistics the articles included apply the concept of transnationality both literally and figuratively, offering a fresh and innovative understanding of this topic and its relation to the studies of Luso-Hispanic cultures and languages. The authors embrace not only Portugal, Brazil, Spain and Latin America but also the United States and even Lebanon in their explorations of how cultures, relations, traditions and languages are maintained in spite of national borders.
