Ama Tshatshu

ByVelile Aubrey Somana

This book is a sequel to AmaTshatshu: A Preliminary Study of the History of the Thembus of Western Thembuland. It is a culmination of a decade of experience and knowledge about the great clan of Mawose and the priceless experience of living in the Eastern Cape and in the middle of the politics of traditional leadership. The first edition, the first rendition ever to be published by an umTshatshu saw numerous challenges from the moment it emerged from the printers. While the booklet was hailed as a breakthrough in the long hiatus in Tshatshu politics, some members of the clan saw the contents as being at odds with their interests and aspirations. These are discussed in full in this book and, of course, this book is expected to evoke more resentment and controversy
