A REVIEW ON ZIKA VIRUS(ZIKV) INFECTION

The diseases mostly transmitted by the mosquito bite such as dengue, west nile, chicken gunya and yellow fever.These are transmitted by the arboviruses and are vector-borne diseases.Now-a-days the virus that causes a severe defects to people (especially fetus) was emphasized in America, Africa, Asia and 20 other countries etc., i.e. ZIKA virus (ZIKV) which is transmitted by mosquitoes (Ades species) It is a mild febrile viral illness ).Firstly, The ZIKV recognized (1947) in rhesus monkey in zika forest in the place of Uganda.In the year 1968, seperation of ZIKV from human was done from the residents of Nigeria. ZIKV replicate primarily in dendritic cells at the infection site. Diagnosis of Zika virus includes PCR, ELISA, PRNA.Through bloodstream, lymphatic system it spread other areas of the body.Severe defects associated with this zika fever such as Neurological complications, Gillian barre syndrome, microcephaly. Alternative treatment is given to reduce the Zika virus infection.Preventive measures should be followed to reduce the risk of infection.
