Rangitoto Island is located just off Auckland in New Zealand, yet many people aren't aware of its somewhat controversial history and beauty. I have had a long association with Rangitoto Island my whole life, but it wasn't until I started researching for this book, I discovered a whole lot of things that make this island even more special. This book brings together scenic photography, interesting facts, funny tales, a glimpse into the past, and information on visiting and walks. It touches on island life as it was back in the pre and post war days including those whose baches didn't survive the 1970's and 1980's. Of Rangitoto Island, many have said, "You either love it or hate it".
