
Optimization of Electrical Discharge Machining Parameters using Taguchi Grey Relational Analysis.
The present work comprises two parts. First part investigates the influence of input parameters (process parameters) on performance measures.
Second part presents the optimization of process parameters for the best performance measures. Process performance (Material Removal Rate, Tool Wear Rate and Surface Roughness) of EDM may be improved significantly by selecting optimal combination(s) of input parameters. Optimization can be single-objective and multi-objective. Taguchi method has been employed as a single-objective optimization technique to obtain the optimum factor/level combination of process parameters for MRR, TWR and SR treating these performance measures as single objective separately.
