Whose Afraid of a Long Days Journey into the Drawing Room

Come into the drawing room of the Arnold house, located in Massachusetts in the early 20th Century. Other than Benedict (no, not that Benedict Arnold!), the characters are dressed neatly and formally. They speak in distinct and clear voices with highly affected upper class mannerisms (please watch a video of an Oscar Wilde play to understand what I mean). Benedict is and acts like a drunk, who has fallen down (more than) a few too many times. He plays his part “straight” (i.e. without the affectation which affects, or infects, the others). I hope you find the premise amusing and enjoy reading it.
