Colonial Records of Virginia
ByVirginia Committee of State Library
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Based on original early court documents, this compilation of Colonial Virginia records is a vital addition to the collection of the serious Virginia genealogist. Contents include, among other things, the first laws of the Colony, a list of Parishes in Virginia (1680), records of the First Assembly (1619), and the List of the Livinge and the Dead in Virginia (1623), which is, essentially, the first census taken in the Colony of Virginia. The book also includes a list of inhabitants in several counties of Virginia in 1634.
The text, which was originally published in 1874, has been reissued and reprinted several times over the last few decades. This latest edition of Colonial Records of Virginia contains updated corrections from previous publications, all while retaining the consistency and accuracy of the original work.
