The “Deeply Respected Husband” and “Cherished Wife” editions are designed to be used together to strengthen the marriage bond, Drawing Closer to Jehovah and each other. The Couples Workbook begins with a designated page for Family Goals, followed by 2 pages for Scriptures to help in being grateful for the marriage arrangement, and Scriptures to help in maintaining or healing the marriage. Next, is an idea page for Topics of Interest. These topics can be inserted into the following 2 pages that hold 52 weeks’ worth of Topic Planning. You may wish to start with just a few to begin with, filling in other topics as your needs as a couple reveal themselves during each study. The Questions to Think About While Studying may provide inspiration to keep our focus on strengthening our love for Jehovah and our mate, reasoning on practical applications, and encouraging healthy communication skills. Of course, not every study will be marriage focused, and at times you may be sharing your family worship with others. To be flexible for all topics, the first 2 pages of the study worksheet can apply to any topic and features the following sections: Topic, Reference Material, Questions to Think About, Main Points, Notes, Scriptures that touched my heart, and, How I can use this to be more Christ-like? Page 3 is marriage focused: What qualities do I appreciate most in my mate? What do each of us need this week to feel loved/respected? Self-Analysis: How did the study go? What did we do well? What do we wish we did more/less of? And finally – Additional research or ideas for future related topics. When studying a topic other than marriage, the 3rd page is a great tool for after-study journaling, to identify and appreciate our mate’s fine spiritual qualities that shine through during each study.
