8.5x11, 140 pages, Spiral Bound The journal starts with an area for favorite scriptures, and a chore chart with room for up to 3 chores per day plus a reward. At this age, it is appropriate to encourage attainable goal setting in the areas of personal, spiritual, and ministry. There is plenty of space for your child’s own goals, as well as, parent directed goals. However, this is for 1 year, so you’ll want to start with only a few so as not to overwhelm. As your child reaches goals, new ones can be added at the child’s comfort level, or a longer-term goal such as becoming an unbaptized publisher can be broken up into several, shorter-term goals in order to always be attainable and encouraging! As a fun incentive for both goals and chores, parents can talk with their children about the rewards ahead of time. We all look forward to a treat after earnest effort! The Sunday Meeting, and Mid-Week Meeting pages focus on just a few memorable points from each half of the meeting rather than points from every part. (Only assign as much as is comfortable and fun!) The focus is on building a relationship with Jehovah and appreciating his qualities, identifying questions the child may have, putting comments into their own words, and learning to develop a simple ministry presentation.
