A TRANSITION BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE SUBURBS

The goal of the project is to design a train station that would adapt the features of modern conveniences for long distance commute offered in the metropolitan area (city) and the suburban region while promoting the unity between the two. The means by which this transit location would serve to unify a city and a suburb will include the choice of material the station will be built from and the amenities offered on its premises, which would transform it into a landmark. The material itself is an integral part of this project. As the train passes through various regions of the vast spaces between the city and the suburb, it may be noted that the same material matter can be found composing different objects in the city and its suburb, drastically changing the outlook of the corresponding locations.The proposed station would combine the motive and the feel from the two locations by incorporating not only the choice of material but also its final exemplification in the real objects.
